Re: showing up, The word “serendipity” was coined by Horace Walpole, based on the story of the “Three Princes of Serendip,” who travelled to seek their fortune and found many fortunate things other than that which they originally sought. By showing up and taking action they opened themselves up to “accidental” good fortune, i.e., serendipity.
